What Is AutoCAD?
AutoCAD is an application
that uses computer-aided design (CAD) to create designs. The AutoCAD software
was created by Autodesk, a company that specializes in software and solutions
for industries such as architecture, engineering, design, manufacturing, and
construction.
The AutoCAD design
software can be used to create and edit 2D and 3D digital images and designs in
a very efficient manner. As a result of AutoCAD's arrival, design practices
began to rely heavily on computers, ushering in a new era. Each line would have
to be meticulously designed and measured by designers before. AutoCAD allows
designers to focus more on ideation, automating the execution process.
Why Use AutoCAD?
Many designers still
prefer AutoCAD because of its excellent 2D design capabilities, though AutoCAD
was primarily created for 2D designs. There are always new features added to
AutoCAD by Autodesk, and now it is also capable of creating 3D models.
With AutoCAD,
designers can prepare more accurate and precise designs, including features
such as centering lines automatically or setting drawing dimensions to fixed
proportions.
AutoCAD offers
multiple views for 3D design, which allows designers to make more subtle
changes and improvements, and it also saves design data that can be retrieved
later.
